The Reds dropped a game last Sunday night that was accompanied by plenty of
defensive errors. Although the Reds jumped ahead in the score 1-0 with Victor
Kotinsky's follow through shot on the 28', apparently it was not enough to overcome
of what was to follow.
The Reds came to the game with three
key absences: Nikola Dokic (father passed away), Teddy
Maciek(sore ankle), and Phil Penz (red card). On the 44'
Costas Sapountzis in his attempt to clear the ball, gets
called for a handball inside the box. The penalty tied
the game of ISSC at 1-1 at halftime.
In the second half,
the Reds had three classic opportunities to go ahead
2-1. In the 64' Costas Sapountzis on a good give and go
finds himself real close only to lift the ball over the
horizontal. On the 73' Danny Stoker from the edge of the
box takes a strong shot that was deflected to a corner
by an ISSC defender. On the 81' Odysseas Rondos on a rebound
drives the ball into the horizontal post. ISSC on a free
kick stole the three points as a header following the cross
by Constantine (former Salamina player) found the corner
of the net on the 88'.
